Peter Burke has today criticised the Labour Party’s jobs plan for ignoring the main issues that are holding back the Irish economy and job creation. “There is a big void in the Labour plan to help Irish businesses create new jobs. Poor national infrastructure, high business costs, unnecessary Government red tape and welfare traps are just some of the issues that are holding back job creation in the domestic economy. -

In fact over the weekend he claimed that it was the last thing it needed. When is the last time he was in an A&E? Has he seen the number of people on waiting lists? Radical overhaul of the health service is exactly what is required and Fine Gael has a plan to do just that’ says Cllr. Peter Burke. -

Posted on January 31, 2011 | No CommentsCllr. Peter Burke, Fine Gael general election candidate, confirmed this week that his party in government will reverse the minimum wage cut. The lowest paid people in society are facing severe hardship because of the combination of the €1 cut in the hourly rate of the minimum wage, and the punitive Universal Social Charge.
